Unpopular opinion but interruption is interruption no matter the form. I do agree with the native protest here but I wouldn’t read into this ruling too much as any governing body would take this position. Weak governing rule set creates these loopholes like the American filibuster which imo is a bug not a feature.

Its ironic that people put so little thought into understanding this and complain about “ai slop”. The slop was in your heads all along.

To think that more accessibility for a project that is all about sharing information with people to whom information is least accessible is a bad thing is just an incredible lack of awareness.

Its literally the opposite of everything people might hate AI for:

• RAG is very good and accurate these days that doesn’t invent stuff. Especially for short content like wiki articles. I work with RAG almost every day and never seen it hallucinate with big models.
• it’s open and not run a “big scary tech”
• it’s free for all and would save millions of editor hours and allow more accuracy and complexity in the articles themselves.

And to top it all you know this is a lost fight even if you’re right so instead of contributing to steering this societal ship these people cover their ears and “bla bla bla we don’t want it”. It’s so disappointingly irresponsible.

I recently was looking at upgrades for my s22 and everything so incremental to the point where it feels like smartphones have peaked couple years ago. It’s a great opportunity for Fairphone to catch up now that the moat is mostly gone.

Samsung tab a9 is legit good and its 8" and costs like 100$. I use it as an e-reader with a matte screen protector and it’s awesome!

I do agree that activism is required here and it maybe China is really stuck at progressing here as activism is basically illegal. The one case of animals activism that I know (posted in another comment) is zoo employees rising up against awful zoo conditions and animal torture and anti shark fin soup lead by Yao Ming and some other pop stars.

Animal activism just doesn’t really exist in China and it really might be the only way to progress this medium.

I’m honestly quite disappointed in Buddhism here. Chinese follow Mahayana branch of Buddhism (same as Japan, Vietnam etc.) Which aims to “help all beings to achieve buddhism” and yet animal rights are non existant and they perform all these rituals of releasing a fish or smt but never do any real action. Just shows how deeply rooted this issue is.
