But I really hate the term “populism”. It’s most often either a slur for progressivism or a euphemism for fascism. And it primarily serves to conflate the two. After all, who are the biggest “populists” in USA? Bernie and Trump. Any useful meaning has been completely obscured. That’s how hegemony maintains order. And given the choice, hegemony will choose fascism every time.
